NATIONAL PLAYERS COMMISSION
The Esport Canada National Players’ Commission (NPC) is the voice of Canadian esports athletes within the Federation. Operating as an independent advisory body, the Commission exists to represent player interests, protect player welfare, and ensure that the perspectives of competitors are reflected in national decision-making.
Esport Canada maintains an active registry of former National Team athletes — including those who have represented Canada at international competitions — to support continued engagement, mentorship, and alumni involvement in the growth of Canadian esports.

Purpose
The National Players’ Commission works to:
-
Advocate for the rights, wellbeing, and interests of Canadian esports players
-
Provide advice and feedback to Esport Canada’s Board of Directors on player-related matters
-
Strengthen open, transparent, two-way communication between athletes and the Federation
-
Promote equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and safe, clean competition values
Representation & Diversity
Commission members are elected from the national player community and are expected to reflect the breadth of Canadian esports — across game titles, regions, languages, genders, and underrepresented communities. Additional seats may be appointed to broaden perspectives and ensure inclusive representation, including voices from scholastic and post-secondary esports pathways.

What the Commission Does
The NPC plays an active role in shaping the athlete experience in Canada by:
-
Bringing player feedback and concerns to Federation leadership
-
Supporting athlete education and community-building initiatives
-
Promoting integrity, safe sport, and clean competition
-
Monitoring player welfare at national events and qualifiers
-
Encouraging networking, mentorship, and long-term athlete engagement
The Chair of the National Players’ Commission holds a voting seat on Esport Canada’s Board of Directors, ensuring that athlete voices are directly represented at the highest level of governance. Through regular reporting and accountability measures, the Commission helps build a player-centered system that aligns with the standards and values of Canadian sport.
