ESPORT CANADA is a federally registered not-for-profit and the national body for Canadian esports.

We work in partnership with our members to promote the growth and development of esports participation and excellence at all levels of play, for all Canadians.

Land Acknowledgement

Esport Canada brings together a community of gamers on traditional Indigenous land. While we meet on a virtual platform, we respect the unceded and treaty lands we are on and acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and present. We dedicate ourselves to authentic alliances with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and cooperation.

Our mission is to empower Canadian gaming communities through collective advocacy, representation, and sanctioned competition and events that allow all Canadians to engage and excel in esports.

Our History

Esport Canada (est. January 6, 2020) was originally founded by educators with the goal of creating real-life connections for K12 students by bringing esports into the classroom while developing community and future-ready skills through competition. Since then, we have grown well beyond the classroom, creating spaces for gamers across the country to gather and compete, supporting the growth and development of local gaming communities.

We are committed to supporting the Canadian Esports Ecosystem by partnering with local gaming communities and Canadian industry leaders to provide opportunities for all Canadians to engage and excel in esports through our EDU (K12), Post-Secondary, Community and Competitive divisions.

Guidelines Agreement

Esport Canada Community Guidelines Agreement

Esport Canada strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment for players to compete and an inclusive space for spectators, coaches, and organizers to connect and enjoy the game. Participation in any Esport Canada tournaments or events requires adherence to the following set of community guidelines for sportsmanship, conduct, and ethics.

All Players, Coaches, Spectators, and Organizers must:

  • Strive to enhance the safety of all esports participants, spectators, coaches, and organizers by treating everyone with respect, never condoning the use of offensive language, nicknames, or any form of insult towards yourself or others. This includes, but is not limited to racism, sexism, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, or physical ability.

  • Uphold the values of sportsmanship, digital citizenship, and integrity by creating a space that is free of language or gestures (physically or in-game) inferring sexual violence or inciting other forms of violence, spamming, or cheating including the use of inappropriate screen names.

  • Respect all participant and spectator information as private and confidential. All age restrictions, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policies for each game, client, and program must be strictly adhered to.
