Esport Canada x Chief Financial Officer

Winnipeg, Manitoba - Esport Canada is thrilled to announce the appointment of Carol Meissner as their new Chief Finance Officer and Board Treasurer. With over thirty years of experience in accounting, finance and business, Carol brings a wealth of expertise to Esport Canada. In her new role, Carol will spearhead the organization's financial activities, including accounting, financial planning, and internal audits. Her extensive knowledge and strategic acumen will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth of Esport Canada and the overall Canadian esports ecosystem.

Carol Meissner MBA, MA, CPA, CGA is an accomplished business professional at an Ontario college, where she teaches accounting and esports. Additionally, she serves as the college's Esports Manager, providing support to the student-run esports club and overseeing work-integrated learning opportunities for students. Carol is also a respected author, having written several Canadian accounting textbooks and contributed to the Handbook of Esports, with a particular focus on esports player parental and family support.

“I’m excited to leverage my finance and accounting background to contribute to the development of a national esports ecosystem in Canada,” expressed Carol Meissner.  “In recent years, I have dedicated my efforts to supporting collegiate esports locally and speaking to parents about the benefits of esports. It’s a privilege to now have the chance to expand those efforts on a larger scale.”
