Esport Canada Announces Strategic Partnership with Canada Esports Association

Winnipeg, Manitoba -  Esport Canada is delighted to announce the signing of a mutually agreed upon Letter of Intent with the Canada Esports Association (CEA)  signed in June 2023 by the leaders of both organizations. This significant milestone paves the way for the coming together of both organizations into a singular governing body, responsible for overseeing the comprehensive development, expansion, and representation of esports in Canada, across educational and professional realms. The strategic alliance of Esport Canada and CEA serves as a testament to the remarkable growth of esports in Canada and underscores the imperative for a unified voice and representation as we forge ahead in the years to come.

The Canada Esports Association (CEA) is a non-profit organization founded in September 2020. Since its establishment, the CEA has been dedicated to providing support to Canadian esports athletes, aiming to enable their participation in international events such as the Global Esports Games and the Commonwealth Esports Championships. Their mission at the CEA is to foster and promote the growth of esports and its ecosystem across Canada. They are committed to creating an inclusive environment where individuals of all genders, races, ages, abilities, and cultures feel welcome to engage in and enjoy esports, as well as cheer on our national athletes.

Esport Canada is thrilled to be moving forward with this Letter of Intent and for the historic joining of Canada Esports Association and Esport Canada. The future of esports is bright in Canada as this move will only help strengthen our esports communities.
